How To Use Snapchat's New Snap Map: To Know your Friends Location

Snapchat has just unveiled a new feature that encourages its users to get together in real-life instead of viewing each other's experiences through a screen.
Called Snap Map, the feature lets any user share their current location, which will then appear on friends' maps and will update accordingly when users open the app. The company has begun rolling the feature to iOS and Android users.
"We've built a whole new way to explore the world! See what's happening, find your friends, and get inspired to go on an adventure!" announces Snap.

Snap recently snapped up mapping app maker Zenly in what was likely one of its largest acquisitions ever, TechCrunch reported Wednesday.
And it looks like Snapchat's parent company is already using Zenly's technology.
Snap Inc., bought Zenly for somewhere between $250 million to $350 million, according to TechCrunch. It's not clear when it completed the acquisition.
French-based Zenly created a location app that allows users to see where their friends are, but in a way that doesn't drain their phones' batteries. Popular in Europe, the Zenly app feeds on teenagers' fear of missing out. Users return to the app again and again to make sure they're not missing out on a hot party or event with their friends.
One reason Zenly was likely a hot acquisition target compared to makers of other location-tracking apps is that its app is more power efficient. Instead of constantly monitoring users' locations — and running down their phones' batteries in the process — the app only determines them when their friends look them up on their phones.

How To Use Snapchat's New Snap Map

Simply open Snapchat and elect to share your location with either all friends, select ones, or not at all via Ghost Mode. A user's location won't be shared if they've stopped using the app for several hours. That said, location sharing will be turned off by default, and you may choose to turn it on at any time.
To access the Snap Map screen, you have to perform a pinch gesture — just like zooming in or out on a photo — on the Snapchat camera homescreen. The app will bring up a virtual map populated with icons, called Actionmoji, representing friends and their location. Tapping these icons will either show their Stories or give you the option to hit them up and make some traveling plans.

The app automatically picks Action emojis for the user based on location, what day is it, or other metrics.
As one can imagine, the Snap Map also doubles as an alternative way to view people's Stories beyond the regular Stories feed and the Story Search feature. In the map, a user can see "heat" colors indicating that there are a lot of Stories being uploaded in that area, possibly because there's a concert, a major festival, or something along those lines.

WhatsApp is ending support for some mobile platforms soon

In time for its eighth anniversary, WhatsApp has decided to announce the dates when it is ending support for certain mobile platforms including Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread and BlackBerry’s BlackBerry 10 OS. The company has warned owners of devices running the affected platforms that some features of the messaging app would no longer function for them when the specified dates arrive.
WhatsApp clearly does not want to reduce its user base too early. With over 1.2 billion monthly active users in February, WhatsApp is available on all mobile platforms like BlackBerry OS, Nokia S40, Nokia S60, and older versions of Android. Recently, the company announced extension of its services on BlackBerry OS and Nokia S40 platforms. It has now officially announced that smartphones running Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread and older versions will continue to be supported by the app till February 1, 2020.
Read: who viewed my whatsapp profile? See how here

Starting with Android, the versions 2.3.7 Gingerbread and older version will support services until a significant time span of February 1, 2020. However, according to recent Android version distribution data released by Google, there are a limited number of devices powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with the version having just a 0.8 percent share of active devices.

The company further mentions in the blog post that the Nokia S40 and BlackBerry OS (including BlackBerry 10) platforms will support WhatsApp till December 31, 2017 and December 31, 2018 respectively, which we recently mentioned in a report and wherein the end-of-life timeline for Nokia S40 devices was thought to be a typographical error. In addition, the eligible devices running Windows Phone 8.0 and later will too keep WhatsApp support till December 31, 2017. Meanwhile, Nokia S60 devices will stop being supported by the app by the end of this month.

They gave reasons that, they will no longer actively develop for these platforms, some features may stop functioning at any time.

Last year they announced that they would stop providing support on older mobile operating systems and devices like Windows Phone 7, iOS 6, BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Android 2.1, and Android 2.2 by the end of 2016. However later, the deadline got pushed back for few mobile platforms to June 2017. Yet again, the deadlines were changed to the aforementioned timeframes but only for select platforms. For now, it's unclear whether Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 will continue to be supported.

“This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone,” WhatsApp stated in the blog post.

New Facebook Update supports Gifs in comments

Gifs allow you to express your joy or add some comedy to posts on social media. These are already present in twitter comments, before now, you can only use gifs by adding a GIF link from Giphy, Imgur and other sites to your status updates, and it'll play inline like magic (uploads won't work), and again its use was hampered by the fact that it only extended to a small group of facebook users.

To celebrate 30 years of the Graphics Interchange Format, the company has lifted the restriction, making GIFs available to all. Now, when you visit Facebook.com or open the official Facebook apps, you will notice a small GIF icon that sits just beside an emoji inside the comment box. This opens up a small box that contains a search function and a collection of trending GIFs.

Note that Giphy and Tenor are powering things underneath the hood, so there's an extensive selection of reactions to choose from.

who viewed my whatsapp profile? See how here

The official Whatsapp messenger doesn't have a support that allows you see who viewed your whatsapp profile and for how long. The functionality would be a really cool one though if whatsApp incorporates this feature.

However out of curiousity a few days back while surfing the net, I came across an App that allowed me to see who viewed my whatsapp profile and for how long.
That is what I am going to share with you today: let's see our  profile stalkers and blockers now!

How to see who viewed my whatsapp profile on Android

There are so many Apps online that claim to show you who viewed your whatsApp profile. however, I am going to elaborate on the the one I have tried today.

WhatsApp – Who viewed Me?

  1. Download and install this free App ‘WhatsApp – Who viewed Me?’ from Mobogenie App store or on this LINK.
  2. open the app and click on the green “SCAN” button.
  3. Let the app do its thing. It will spy on your contacts for a few minutes then show you the users who have visited your WhatsApp profile today.

You’ll now see all the users who viewed your WhatsApp profile.

Another Android App with the same cool feature is:

How to see who viewed my whatsapp profile on IOS

WRevealer is an app which allows you to find out who is stalking you on WhatsApp. Unlike most apps which are first available on Android, this application is available only on iOS devices and for now there’s no Android version available.

WRevealer is a Cydia tweak for iOS 8, 9 + devices which allows you to see your profile visitors. It works on both iPad and iPhone, but it requires you to jailbreak your device. After which you can quickly check who visited your WhatsApp profile. It’s a paid tweak, but they do provide a one-day trial which you can use to see if it works for real. If you are not satisfied with it, you cancel your subscription.

How to Use WRevealer?

  1. Install WRevealer
  2. After installation, when you open it, you will see a login screen. The app requires you to log in before you can use any of its features. You can create an account if you like.
  3. Then open WhatsApp messenger on your phone -> Contacts -> Refresh

Once you have done that, go back to WRevealer and hit the ‘Search’ button on the right side. It’ll take some time to process and then presents you a report in the following format: Phone Number|Date|Time
It also allows you to save the list for future reference.Enjoy!

The only downside of using this app is the price that you’ll have to pay after the first free day. There are three plans – Monthly, six-months, and yearly plan which cost $10, $51 and $84 respectively. If you share or tweet about WRevealer, you get an extra day for free.

With these, I hope you have fun seeing who viewed your whatsapp profile. Enjoy!!!

Euro to naira exchange rate in black market Today

Today we are going talk about money, Foreign Exchange to be exact. Euro to naira exchange rate in black market.
                              euro TO NAIRA
Let us Define some key Terms:
EuroThe euro (sign: €; code: EUR) is the official currency of the eurozone, which consists of 19 of the 28 member states of the European Union: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain. The euro is the second largest reserve currency as well as the second most traded currency in the world after the United States dollar.

NairaThe naira (sign: ₦; code: NGN) is the currency of Nigeria. It is subdivided into 100 Kobo. The naira was introduced on 1 January 1973, replacing the pound at a rate of 2 naira = 1 pound. This made Nigeria the last country to abandon the £sd currency system.

Black marketThe black market in currencies refers to the illegal or parallel market in foreign exchange in various countries around the world. The currency black market forms part of the underground economy by virtue of operating outside legal banking channels. In a currency black market, cash transactions are almost always the norm, since participants would be obviously reluctant to leave any trace of their involvement in such transactions.

Euro to naira exchange rate in black market Today

The exchange rate  of Euro to naira exchange rate in black market Today is:

BUY : ₦405 for 1€

SELL : 411 For 1

Factors Affecting Euro to naira exchange rate in Nigeria Today

Oil Money

Collapsing oil prices have heaped pressure on the naira.
Reserves spent
Crude sales account for up to 70% of government revenue and more than 90% of the country's export earnings.
Oil is also the source of most of the country's foreign exchange reserves.
Before the crash in oil prices, Nigeria had nearly $43 billion in reserves. By June 2016, efforts by the central bank to support the naira had pushed the figure below $27 billion.
The central bank said in mid-2016 that it would allow the naira to trade freely. But currency traders report the bank has continued to intervene in the market.

Let it float

Economists say the situation won't be entirely remedied until the government removes currency controls and truly allows the naira to trade freely.
The International Monetary Fund, in its latest report on Nigeria, recommended the government "remove the remaining restrictions and multiple currency practices, thus unifying the foreign exchange market and helping regain investor confidence."
Abdullahi would welcome change. He describes the current system of multiple exchange rates as simply "crazy."

Looting Of Public Fund

For a very long time now, government officials have looted our public fund, and instead of them to invest it in our economy, they instead take it outside the country thereby impacting negatively on our Naira.

High Demand For the Euro

Many Nigerian traders these days prefer to do business transactions in foreign currencies instead of using our naira. This also has a negative effect on its value.

Excessive Importation

Nigeria is a consumer economy, and unless this changes, we would not be able to move forward as regards our foreign exchange, because of its high demand by the traders. Hence, raising its value against our Naira.

Though in the news;
The Naira is set to be given further lift in the forex market with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN’s injection of another $418 million into various segments of the inter-bank Foreign Exchange market on Tuesday.
Hopefully, this will have a positive effect on our Euro to naira exchange rate in black market.
