Facebook Messenger Now Lets you Send Money to Friends with PayPal

After patnering with Skype's mobile App to make payments earlier this year, online payment gateway PayPal now lets US users send and request money via Facebook Messenger.
facebook messenger send reveive money with paypal PayPal is the leader in peer-to-peer (P2P) payments with $24 billion in P2P volume during the third quarter of 2017 alone (up 47 percent year-over-year).

The ability to send and request money in Messenger gives people more choice and more convenient ways to get things done in different contexts.

"Whether it's splitting a bill for a cab ride or a night out, paying for your share of the rent, or making sure you get paid back for mom's birthday present, PayPal makes exchanging money between friends and family simple," the company said in a statement late Friday.

Last year, PayPal partnered with Facebook Messenger, allowing more than 2.5 million US customers to connect their accounts, use PayPal to shop on Messenger and enable Messenger as a means of communication for PayPal users.

How to connect your PayPal account with Messenger

This feature can be accessed the same way one used to pay with debit and credit card. Tap blue plus icon and hit the green payment button. Two options will appear from which one can select PayPal. If someone is already using Facebook Messenger for payments, he can just tap to change button and select Paypal.
This feature has just one problem that it needs another layer of protection in case someone gets hold of your account. To cater this issue Facebook should take some measures to refrain from such kind of issues from occurring.
It seems that the tech giant want to increase the ever declining user base with the launch of other such social media platforms. Recently Facebook launched screen sharing option that let you share your screen during Facebook Live.

"In addition to enabling P2P payments with PayPal in Messenger, we are also introducing our first-ever PayPal customer service bot for Messenger, so PayPal customers can seamlessly receive payment and account support directly in the app," said Bill Ready, Chief Operating Officer, PayPal.

Lets see whether people like this feature or not.
