The arrangement includes more than 2,000 HTC engineers moving over to Google. They will all stay in Taiwan; Osterloh takes note of that Taipei is turning into Google's greatest building center in the Asia-Pacific area. HTC's agreement fabricating operations and VR division are not influenced, but rather a considerable larger part of the cell phone R&D group is joining Google, as indicated by a man comfortable with the issue.
The move speaks to a genuine extension of Google's equipment endeavors, and the most clear use of the new building ability is in its line of Pixel cell phones. Google worked with a subset of its new HTC enlists on an agreement for the Pixel and Pixel 2, as indicated by a source acquainted with the advancement, and now the organization will have a bigger R&D group in-house.

Google is as yet a little player as far as cell phones transported, however the Pixel telephones are pointed soundly at top of the line players like Apple and Samsung. Other Android makers "know why we're doing this," Osterloh tells Bloomberg in a meeting. "Honestly, Apple is doing extremely well in created markets."

While the Pixel line isn't exactly standard yet, the HTC bargain is a concentrated push to give Google's equipment division a moment help in data transfer capacity. "We don't need it to be a specialty thing," Osterloh disclosed to The Verge in a meeting a year ago. "We would like to offer items in high volumes in five years."
